As chair of the Council for the Alberta Association of Opticians, he is responsible for creating a new board of directors overseeing all aspects of creating a not-for-profit organization. The AOA's mission is to Advance the profession of optician-ry in Alberta and across Canada. With more than 40 years in the optical business, Dean is keen to explore the future direction for eye care Professionals. His perspective as a lifetime optician, a contact practitioner, an instructor of optical students, and as one who has a unique perspective from being involved in optical missions abroad, offers invaluable insights.
